Pantone Announces Colors of the Year For 2016. Make Them in Your Kitchen!
Pantone has announced their choice for Color(s) of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity. You can read more about the selection on Pantone’s website.
While some may say brights are better than pastels, we here at Make’n Mold say there’s a season or reason for a range of colors.
If you want to use the Pantone colors Serenity or Rose Quartz to dip a donut, coat a cake pop, cover a cupcake, or make candies, use Make’n Mold candy wafers and the following recipes.
Rose Quartz Recipe
- 1 Pink / 4 White Vanilla
- 1 Dark Blue / 12 White Vanilla
These recipes are ratios of candy wafers. You can determine the ounces to use for each color by picking a base ounce measurement, and then multiply this by each ratio color number.
For example, if you want to make a smaller batch of Rose Quartz: you might choose 6 oz, so multiply 6 x’s 1 = 6 oz of Pink Candy Wafers / 6 x’s 4 = 24 oz of White Vanilla Candy Wafers.
Please Note: These ratios are a starting point and you may have to play around with the amounts. Our recipe for Serenity is close but not exact. Have fun!
