St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Hats

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day by creating your own fruit-filled Leprechaun Hats. We use bananas, apples, and pineapple in combination with our Make'n Mold Candy Wafers to create a healthy, sweet treat for your family and friends to enjoy this St. Patrick's Day!

Ingredients

  • 14oz Make'n Mold Dark Green Vanilla Flavored Candy Wafers
  • 8oz Make’n Mold Vanilla Flavored Candy Wafers
  • 2-3 Bananas (Medium-sized)
  • 2-3 Apples (Medium-sized)
  • 1 Pineapple or Pre-sliced Pineapple Pieces

Kitchenware

  • 12 Make'n Mold Lollipop Sticls (Either 4.5 or 6 inch sticks are OK)
  • 2 (A jar lid may work as well)

Directions

Step 1 Peel and cut bananas into roughly 2” pieces. Place Make’n Mold Lollipop Sticks into bananas and place on cooking sheet covered in wax paper.
Step 2 Cover the bananas with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 30 minutes or until they’re completely frozen.
Step 3 Once bananas are frozen, melt the Dark Green Candy Wafers in microwaveable safe bowl according to package instructions. Pull bananas from the freezer, remove plastic wrap, and dip into the melted Candy Wafers. Place bananas on a clean sheet of wax paper.
Step 4 Next, cut enough ½” vertical slices from the apples to match the number of bananas, then use cookie cutter to cut circles from the slices. Pat apple slices dry with paper towels.
Step 5 Re-melt the Dark Green Candy Wafers, dip apple slices and place on wax paper.
Step 6 Melt the White Vanilla Flavored Candy Wafers in microwaveable safe bowl according to package instructions. Dip banana pieces into the melted candy wafers about ¼” to create a band around the hat. Immediately place banana on top of an apple slice and allow to dry.
Step 7 Next, cut ¼” square pineapple pieces for the hat buckle. Pat the pieces dry and attach to the band of each hat with a small dot of melted candy wafers. Serve immediately or store in airtight container in a cool place.
